We are the authors of Mission:Explore, a series of award-winning, quirky children’s books. On September 1st Mission:Explore Food, our best book yet, is officially being published and we’re offering something very special to stores that would like to work with us.
“Hosting The Geography Collective at Hay Fever 2012 was fantastic! They were enthusiastic, flexible and really well organised. But most importantly families visiting Hay absolutely loved them – we’re looking forward to having them back on board in 2013 already.” Hay Festival
This year we have enjoyed turning thousands of children into bookmakers, authors, illustrators and explorers at a number of high profile events including the Hay-on-Wye Festival of Literature and the Arts and Latitude Festival in Suffolk. During these engaging events we work with children to fold books, print mission-based activities in them, go exploring and then use inky drip-tip pens to record discoveries through drawings, maps and written word.
“They unleash the eccentric adventurer in every child. We love them!” Latitude Festival
We are offering a limited number of bookshops a free Mission:Explore bookmaking event in return for stocking Mission:Explore Food. The event:
can be in your shop, at a local event or in a local school. You decide depending on what you think will best promote your shop.
can be run from inside our specially equipped explorer van (decked out with wallpaper, quirky framed pictures, curiosities and wooden desks), at a school or inside your shop.
can include a talk from us aimed at an adult audience.
will be promoted through our networks.
will last for an agreed duration, usually a morning or afternoon.
will be 100% free if you stock at least 5 copies of Mission:Explore Food from September 1st and have an appropriate level of stock for the event itself.
By booking us for a book-making event you’ll not only enjoy a high energy and quality performance, but also support the launch of one of the most creative and critical food books for children that’s ever been published. Supported by National Geographic Education and Festival Republic, Emma Freud has said that “every school in the country should have a copy” and scores of parents, cooks and educators are endorsing and backing the book.
You can learn more about the Mission:Explore Food in the press release here.
